Dr. Dan L. Griffin
Dan hails from Oklahoma but has lived in Texas most of his life. In his pastoral career, he has led churches of all sizes. He and Marilyn, his wife of 53 years, have three grown children and five grandchildren. The Griffins live in Arlington, TX. He also teaches Bible at Dallas Baptist University as an adjunct professor. Dan loves to write, which you can read in his hometown newspaper, and spend time with family. He was called to First Baptist Lancaster in November, 2013. Dan received his BA in English at Oklahoma Baptist University. Then he attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in KY, where he received his M. Div. and his D. Min. Both Campbell University (NC) and Dallas Baptist University have bestowed on him honorary degrees. Dan is a walking dictionary. Make sure you ask him what the word of the day is this Sunday!
Rev. Ray Love
Ray grew up in Alabama and graduated from Jacksonville State University. He met and married his wife, Linda, in Texas. They have a daughter, Candice, who is married and lives in Louisiana. Both Ray and Linda are professionally trained musicians. Linda teaches voice lessons and accompanies in two schools in the Arlington area and is the organist in a church in Grapevine. Ray directs the FBC Worship Choir and the Senior Serenaders’ Choir. He’s been our Minister of Music for five years. FBC is the fourth church where Ray and Dan have served together.
For the last 14 years, Terry has been a vital part of FBC’s support staff. She and her husband (who shares her entire exact name!) live in Red Oak. They have a son and a daughter who are grown. The two Terrys are the proud grandparents of a granddaughter and a grandson. Currently, Terry is the full-time Financial Administrator at FBC. But, she wears many hats! She always has time to help, answer questions, and find that “thing” that no one else can locate!
Joe’s title is Building Supervisor; however, he does much more than that: he keeps our church facilities in immaculate condition as a “one-man” crew! He has been doing it for 17 years. Joe and Carla have 3 children, two granddaughters and one grandson; and reside in Red Oak. Early and late, Joe is always cleaning, straightening, repairing, and anything else that might need his attention. He believes that old saying that “cleanliness is next to Godliness!”
After her husband passed away in 2007, Marie became responsible for her two children, Derrick and Yashica. Now, she has five adorable grandchildren to love. She has lived in Lancaster for 31 years. Coming from the corporate world, Marie brought both talents and experience to her job as our Administrative Assistant. For the past two years, hers is the sweet, pleasant voice who greets you on the phone, in addition to her many other responsibilities.
